SAM FIRST, THE VENUE
Los Angeles’ leading jazz club for world-class modern, eclectic and straight-ahead jazz in an intimate setting, and all within walking distance of Los Angeles International Airport. Owner Paul Solomon aimed to create a space that was “unexpectedly creative” - something that would excite visitors and match the authentic creativity of the musicians who perform there. There are two sets nightly, Tuesday through Saturday, starting at around 7:30pm and 9:30pm.
Sam First is a 7-10 minute walk from the terminals at LAX which makes it the perfect stop before or after a flight! We are located on the East side of the building at 6171 W Century Blvd, right in front of the Marriott Courtyard and West of Hilton Homewood Suites.
SAM FIRST, THE MAN
Sam & Rose
Sam First, the venue, was inspired by Sam First, the man - an old-world tailor who led his family out of the wilderness (and even better, to Los Angeles!), and whose brilliant smile warmed his grandson’s heart.
One of my passions is jazz, another is architecture, another is photography. Those are my pictures all over the walls. As for the furniture, all the pieces that aren’t built-in are real vintage midcentury pieces, made by people like Herman Miller and Artemide. They’re the real deal. I also like good drinks, so we put them all together, and that’s Sam First.”

PARKING
There are eight parking spots in the rear of our building that are reserved for Sam First after 6:00pm and are available on a first come first serve basis. Do not park in the two spots labeled Quadranet. There is also metered parking available on Vicksburg Ave and 98th Street.
Additionally, there are several airport parking lots in the area, including Quikpark on Vicksburg Ave & Joe’s AutoParks at 6151 W Century Blvd. Joe's offers a reduced rate of $6.25 for the first three hours, and $3 per half hour after that. Patrons will need to stop by the office for the parking lot and show your Sam First receipt, or press the help button at the exit and the supervisor will come adjust the rate.
